What is OMD Cleo?
OMD Cleo is the AI operating system that lets enterprises adopt AI-driven workflows without having to build, host, or operate AI infrastructure themselves.
It is delivered as a multi-tenant SaaS service hosted on OMD's EU Kubernetes cluster, and can also be deployed into a customer's own Kubernetes environment when data-residency or sovereignty requirements demand it.
The core idea
Most AI platforms require users to open a dedicated chat interface — a web application or a mobile app — to interact with the assistant. OMD Cleo takes a different approach: Cleo is channel-agnostic. Your employees receive Cleo-generated messages on the communication tools they already use every day, such as Microsoft Teams, Matrix, Email, or WhatsApp.
For workflows that touch your customers — for example appointment booking reminders or status updates — Cleo communicates as your organisation, never as OMD. Your customers see only your brand.
What Cleo does
Cleo brings together three capabilities that are usually developed and operated separately:
| Capability | Description |
|---|---|
| AI workflows | Reusable, scheduled or event-driven processes that combine an LLM, data from your OMD environment, and a delivery channel |
| MCP tooling | Pre-built Model Context Protocol servers that give the LLM read and write access to OMD Go, OMD Powerhouse, and OMD Document Hub |
| Multi-channel delivery | A single agent runtime that delivers responses to Matrix, Teams, Email, WhatsApp, and future channels without requiring separate integrations |
How it relates to OMD's product suite
OMD Cleo is the AI layer that sits on top of the OMD product suite:
- OMD Go — AI-driven mobile workforce management. Cleo can read task and trip data, suggest replanning, and deliver worker briefings.
- OMD Powerhouse — Enterprise BI and data lake. Cleo can query dashboards, run SQL, and surface analytics insights in a natural-language conversation.
- OMD Document Hub — Managed document store. Cleo can search for relevant documents using semantic (vector) search and present summaries.
- OMD Assets — Asset lifecycle management (MCP server in roadmap).
Who hosts and operates Cleo?
- Primary: OMD-operated Kubernetes cluster in the EU (multi-tenant SaaS).
- Disaster recovery: OMD-operated Google Cloud Kubernetes cluster.
- Customer-hosted: The same workloads are packaged as Argo CD manifests for customers who require on-premise or private-cloud deployment.
